What is DIY Museum?

DIY Museum is a queer arts collective that cultivates community and belonging in the Bay Area.

Through creative programming, DIY fosters safe and accessible spaces for anyone and everyone to explore their innate creativity. Our goal is to support local artists, inclusive arts programming, and alternative artistic expression.

We envision a world where art transcends binaries and hierarchies. We aim to uplift forms of expression in all media including zines, fiber arts, collage, comics, poetry, photography, and more.

We welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, and hope to have diverse programming that appeals to different individuals.

Where can you find DIY Museum?

DIY Museum does not currently exist in a single physical location. For now, we are partnering with community spaces and doing virtual events to reach a wide audience.

In the future, we dream of opening our own arts space in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Have an idea for a DIY Museum event?

We are creating the artistic community that we need by listening to the needs of our community.

We encourage all forms of art and attach ourselves to the ‘DIY Ethos’ of holding ourselves accountable to creating programming that serves the unmet needs of our community.

If you have an event you’d like to see hosted by DIY Museum, reach out to us via email at diy.museumbay@gmail.com or through our contact form!
